Crucial BX200 Vs MX200

Crucial, SSD Vs SSD

Unlike HDD (Hard Disk Drive), in which optical plates are being spun in order to read or write new data, in SSD, information is stored in microchips that are not moving. Thus, SSD is typically much faster than HDD. Also quite so recently, or not so, Crucial BX200 and Crucial MX200 gained some popularity on the market. These two SSD models have been so popular because of the performance they promise, claiming that they are better than most typical SSD clients. However, Crucial MX200 is being sold nearly twice as much as Crucial BX200, making people wonder what on earth is the difference between these two models of Crucial. So, what do we get by going to Crucial MX200 instead of Crucial BX200?

Crucial BX200 Vs MX200

– Slightly more capacity
Well, one thing for sure, Crucial MX200 has slightly more memory capacity than Crucial BX200. Crucial MX200 is available in 250 GB, 500 GB, and 1 TB, while Crucial BX200 is available in 240 GB, 480 GB, and 960 GB, making MX200 effectively has 10 GB, 20 GB, and 40 GB advantage over BX200. Of course, such difference may seem trivial, but it has to be stated nonetheless.

– Faster speed
Now, this one is not so trivial. Crucial MX200 has a quite significantly faster reading and writing speed than Crucial BX200, both for sequential memory operations as well as for random memory operations. If you need a reliable hardware for handling a tremendous amount of data regularly, Crucial MX200’s performance will help you more than Crucial BX 200. Though, Crucial BX200 is actually decent enough for casual personal usage.

– Safety and advanced features
