Both the M500 and V300 are very similar in specifications. Both are 2.5″ Hard drives and this means that they are suitable for use in laptop computers as well as laptop computers. Both feature the SATA III interface, although this is backwards compatible with SATA II for older computers. Installing an SSD like the M500 or V300 is very straightforward. It’s just a matter of disconnecting the old drive and installing the new one.

The Kingston has 450MB/s read and write speeds, while the crucial is slightly faster at reading (500MB/s), however is much slower writing data back to the drive at 250MB/s. Conclusion
Both the Crucial M500 and the Kingston V300 are very similar drives and fairly equally matched. However, the Kingston V300 slightly clinches it and is that bit more impressive. The read speed might be slightly lower, but the write speed is much higher than the crucial. It’s also very unlikely the slight reduction in read speed will be noticeable, even on a state of art computer. Choose the Kingston V300 and you won’t regret it.
